#3 No Busy Signals

In order to access the Internet, we need to connect to an Internet Service Provider(ISP) which then connects us to the Internet. But many ISPs that connect computer users to the Internet are hard to access because too many people are using their service at the same time. The result is a busy signal in which the computer user must wait and redial hoping that a line will be free sometime soon. The WebTV uses multiple ISPs and even catalogs different ISP numbers so that if the first dial-in is busy WebTV will automatically dial into the next number. The WebTV does this automatically so you do not have to program anything.

So far the WebTV Networks has 150,000 subscribers and 65% of user dial-in everyday. WebTV Networks has stated that they have the capacity to serve 2.5 million users. In the event that all the WebTV ISPs are all busy, chances are you will not be the only person experiencing this but the whole Internet is experiencing a high volume of traffic. We can't do anything about that but I can assure you that it hasn't happened to me yet, and I don't think it ever will.

BOTTOM LINE: You can access the Internet whenever you want when you power on.
